Confirm voltage and physical fit

Read the battery nameplate and truck documentation before selecting a replacement. A pack can contain several blocks, so the voltage printed on one block does not identify the complete system voltage. Send photographs of the whole installation and all labels if the arrangement is unclear.

For Toyota, Crown, Big Joe, Jungheinrich, Hyster, Raymond or Yale equipment, provide the exact truck model. Include any Dayton 6-EVF-60 or Multiton QMAX markings as printed on the original equipment. Brand names alone do not confirm compatibility.

Before replacing a pack

Photograph the nameplate and record voltage, Ah, Wh and the manufacturer's chemistry designation. Send all markings; ask the supplier to confirm anything unclear.
Measure the battery compartment length, width and height, including cover clearance. Confirm the truck's specified battery weight.
Identify the connector type, contact layout and mounting position. Include clear photos of both mating halves.
Record the cable length and exit direction. Check the route against the proposed pack.
Provide the charger model and output label. Confirm its charging profile and any communication requirements with the battery supplier.
Confirm the proposed voltage and capacity against the truck requirements and duty cycle before ordering.

Charging times and charger compatibility

Charge times need to be confirmed for the proposed battery and charger combination. Send the current charger label, available power supply and the charging breaks in your operating schedule. Ask for the charging procedure and expected timing for that exact pack.

Do not assume that an existing lead-acid charger can be reused with a lithium pack. Confirm chemistry, charging profile, connector and communication compatibility before planning a conversion.

Lead-acid to lithium conversion

A conversion requires checks of the truck, battery tray, required battery weight and electrical interface. Ask the truck and battery suppliers which installation or charger changes the proposed configuration needs. Do not assume that matching tray dimensions establishes a plug-in replacement.

Maintenance and service documents

Request the maintenance instructions, applicable safety data sheet and transport documentation for the proposed model. Confirm the written warranty and service procedure with the quotation. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for inspections and charging-area arrangements; a chemistry change does not establish that a battery room can be removed.

Compare quotations

Compare capacity, chemistry, tray configuration, cables, connectors and charger requirements on the same basis. Ask each supplier to identify what the price includes. Use the quoted service terms and your own operating schedule when comparing costs.

How long will the battery run?

Provide the shift hours, load, travel, lifting work and operating temperature for a runtime assessment. An Ah rating alone does not establish a full-shift runtime.

Can several blocks be replaced with one pack?

Ask for a model-specific assessment of the complete system voltage, tray, connector, battery weight and charger. Confirm the proposed configuration with the truck and battery suppliers before making the change.
