Mona Nova links an electric telehandler to farm solar operations
German electric-vehicle maker Mona Motors plans to present its Mona Nova all-electric telehandler at EuroTier in Hannover this November. Forkliftaction News reported the plan on 15 October 2026. The machine is aimed at agriculture, horse farms and construction yards, including sites looking to use solar or photovoltaic power.
The rigid-chassis telehandler has a stated lifting capacity of 2,700 kg and a maximum lift height of 6.36 m. Those figures appear in both the news report and Mona's current product listing. The listing specifies lithium iron phosphate battery chemistry and a separate 26 kW system for working hydraulics.
Mona's product page lists an onboard charger for a 22 kW wallbox and a four-hour full-charge time with that setup. It gives an operating-time range of four to eight hours. Forkliftaction reports that the 22 kW onboard charger is standard equipment. These are manufacturer figures, not a guaranteed shift length for every farm or workload.
Mona compares the Nova with a traditional diesel telehandler that it says uses about eight litres of fuel per operating hour. The company reports average energy use of 12.5 kWh per operating hour for the Nova. These figures come from its announcement as reported by Forkliftaction. The report does not explain whether the operating-time and average-energy figures use the same workload or charging conditions. They do not establish an independent cost or efficiency study.
The vehicle control unit includes integrated telemetry. According to the report, operators can monitor live operations, check battery state and coordinate charging with periods of peak solar generation. A farm considering this arrangement should check whether its available solar output, wallbox power and work schedule can be coordinated without leaving the machine short of energy when needed.
The Nova also has four-wheel steering, all-wheel technology, an electric parking brake with hill-hold function and a sprung seat with seat heating.
Buyers should confirm the battery capacity, system voltage, applicable warranty terms and charging-installation requirements for their intended configuration directly with Mona before ordering. Capacity and voltage are not repeated here as settled values.
Before comparing the Nova with another machine, buyers can record expected loads, hydraulic work, driving hours, charging location, available electrical supply, solar-generation patterns and backup arrangements for cloudy or high-demand periods.
Mona Motors is headquartered in Bad Waldsee, Germany, and manufactures lithium-ion powered vehicles for forestry and agriculture.
